Hey Human,
It's often told Mother = God. The one who gives birth is called a mother, hence we call our nature also 'A MOTHER'. I am not going to brag about my mother or someone else's mother here, I'm trying to explore with you what is the true meaning of the word MOTHER.
Is it a simple word or an emotion? Obviously whoever is reading this content love their mothers and I cannot deny there are few who do not & let’s not judge them (I know you guys have your reasons).
Do you think a human (lets not go to the animal topic now) who can give birth will be called a mother? Is it so simple? I always wonder why there is such a hype for that word. I have heard stories of people abandoning their children soon after they give birth. Then you tell me what is the difference between them and a true human who nourishes its(sometimes other's) offsprings with humanity & love. This is where I got confused and I thought of exploring the true meaning of MOTHER.
It's easy for people to tell a mother knows everything about her kids. Should it stop there? Should the love be only for her kids? then this big brag about the word MOTHER, doesn't get its true meaning right? When a girl marries into a household the son's mother will get a daughter (I consider this as wanted or unwanted adoption), since she too becomes the family. We are in the world where most women go through trauma caused by their in-laws (there are amazing in-laws in the world & this is strictly not for them), I remind you again, here too a "MOTHER" will come into the picture. So, do you think the meaning changes here? mother's nature changes here? mother becomes selfish here? and why she becomes selfish? On the other hand there are lot many incidents where the mother of a daughter spoils the relationship between the son-in-law and his mother. When you analyse, I think we start loosing the trust in the word "MOTHER" and we start blaming ourselves or society (Funny thing we forget that, WE ARE THE SOCIETY).
There are restrictions or a set of responsibilities society impose on a "MOTHER", just because she is a mother, she is not allowed to dream & her primary responsibility is to take care of her child. If the child is a little offtrack (may be for whatsoever reason) she gets blamed. Do you think all bad people (society will tag the word) have bad mothers? I don't think so. A person grows into someone good or bad all depends on that person.
And do you think all mothers are good just because they are mothers? Why do we push others to become someone else when we are so imperfect? We are after all humans and its our nature and desire to become bad or good. And is there really a good or bad thing in this world? (I'm thinking of writing about this topic, lets see!!)
All said and done, first of all we all should agree to a fact that 'MOTHER' is also a human first. And I don't like to badge that, a woman can only be a mother. And why do we have to put such pressure and expectations on someone who is just like me & you? obviously they too can make mistakes correct?
Yes! I agree only, women give birth (It seems male can too, in some scenarios but not sure about it so sorry!) but the emotion and the nature can be fulfilled by anyone in the world. A father, brother, sister, friend, caretaker, any human can become a mother (a true human) if they know the true meaning of the word and believes in loving unconditionally.
For me mother is also a human who, "loves unconditionally, values each relationship, cares for each emotion, embodies humanity, support through hardship & JUST BE THERE". Don't you think we all humans should be mothers? Don't you think the above said qualities should be present in each and everyone of us? Can we all at least try to become mothers? Or can we all try to become more human???
No matter what my thoughts are, it’s you who should decide.
I'm just a mere Common Commoner scribbling on my writing pad here.
Your's truly,
TCC
